GPDPįinally, the authority gives OpenAI 20 days to respond to the inquiry and share precisely what measures will be implemented to remediate the recognized issues. The Italian SA emphasizes in its order that the lack of whatever age verification mechanism exposes children to receiving responses that are absolutely inappropriate to their age and awareness, even though the service is allegedly addressed to users aged above 13 according to OpenAI’s terms of service. The third issue highlighted in GPDP’s announcement is the lack of age verification on the ChatGPT platform, which allows users below the age of 13, who are typically ineligible for using the service, to log in and chat with the AI bot. However, ChatGPT’s terms appear to lack this crucial component. The GDPR requires a legal basis for data collection, aka a convincing justification for data harvesting, processing, and storing, which ensures that the process is transparent and respects the rights of the data subjects. The data protection office also raises the question of what data is collected from the users’ conversations to train its AI model or share with partners, which is unclear from OpenAI’s published terms. The Italian authorities accuse OpenAI of failing to personally inform impacted users of the data breach, as they are obliged according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable in Europe. I realize that for most the import is flawless but I'm here to say that when it fails - it fails miserably. We had a significant issue in ChatGPT due to a bug in an open source library, for which a fix has now been released and we have just finished validating.Ī small percentage of users were able to see the titles of other users’ conversation history. Dealing w/ duplicates and bad error messages was frustrating. When I finally got it to import, I discovered multiple of the same account so it seems that previous attempts would partially work but the messages from 1Password was that the import failed. The other issue I had is that I could not get an import from my LP to 1Password to work properly. I much prefer the timing with DashLane for when you are prompted to save. The failures were consistent and I had another family member try with a few of their sites and had the same issues. It's not just me but family members who I'm recommending to. Yes I could dig out the generated password with some work to then manually fill in but I have to consider friction. 1Password failed to properly save the new generated password for 2 of those sites.

1Password might not consider it a bug but I have several websites that I have accounts on that I used to test each password manager with.

The big one is the timing of the save of the password.
